The horse has inspired such fascination to man they were in awe of them through the ages and are still so today. Apollo’s Chariot was drawn by his four horses and they pulled the sun across the sky. Apollo granted his son one wish and that was to cross the sky in his father’s chariot. Apollo agreed, though the chariot had dropped too low and the sun almost burned the earth. To save the earth, Zeus struck the boy with a thunderbolt. Pegasus the winged horse was famous as well. Finally horses came to earth and man started learning how to use them.

Breeds of horses were being developed such as the Morgan, Mustangs, Indian Ponies, Quarter Horses, etc. there are so many different kinds of breeds today, one just has to find the one they want and there they are. The Archduke Charles organized the royal stud in Lipissa, and bred his horses that he acquired from Spain to Arabian, Barb and Andalusian mares from Naples. Some say horses were introduced to America by the Spanish conquistadores. They brought many different breeds of horses with them and that is where so many breeds developed. These horses were popularized by Hollywood as they made many movies depicting the horse as heroes.
